In addition to paying 6.95% of your salary to the Florida Retirement System and 7.65% of your salary to Social Security, the Board also contributes approximately 76% or higher (depending on the plan chosen) of the cost of your health insurance coverage.
The health insurance coverage is provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida. There are two plans to choose from. A summary of the health insurance benefits and rates can be found in the menu to the left.
The Board also contributes $400 per employee towards a Flexible Benefits Plan (life, disability, dental, vision, medical & dependent day care reimbursement accounts, etc.) Fringe Benefits Management Company administers the Flexible Benefits Plan. This plan allows for pre-tax payroll deduction of the employee’s portion of premiums for Flexible Benefits Plan benefits and health insurance.
The Employee Assistance Program is available to all regular employees and their lawful dependents. The Employee Assistance Program services are aimed at helping individuals who are experiencing personal or job related difficulties, such as financial problems, marital concerns, parenting or childcare problems, adjustment to changes like moving, problems with co-workers, substance abuse, etc. The use of this program is strictly confidential.
