The Finance Academy is designed to prepare students with the skills needed for the highly competitive financial services industry.  It’s easy to categorize finance careers as Wall Street investor or banker, but multiple opportunities are available in the financial industry. From banking and investing, to financial planning, analysts, managers, executives, CPAs, accountants, auditors, and bookkeepers, as global economies intertwine, job opportunities in financial services cross industry sectors and borders.

  • Students learns the tasks a stockbroker does to manage the financial portfolio of clients (individual or a corporate)
  • Financial and estate planning
  • Organizational structures, professional ethics, management and supervisory techniques, legal responsibilities, and workplace performance
  • Human relations and customer service skills

This program supports students' college and career readiness. Students are college and career ready when they have the knowledge, skills, and academic preparation needed to enroll and succeed in college credit-bearing courses within an associate or bachelor degree program without the need for remediation. Students need these same attributes and levels of achievement to enter and succeed in post-secondary workforce education or to enter a career path offering a living wage and future advancement.
