Pre-apprenticeships

Pre-apprenticeships provide an avenue for youth who are at least 16 years old to become qualified to enter registered apprenticeship programs in the same trade.

St. Lucie Public Schools offers pre-apprenticeship programs providing technical instruction to high school students beginning junior year into senior year. After completing their high school program, students may be granted preferred entry into registered and sponsored apprenticeship programs. Students may also receive credit for the completion of the registered pre-apprenticeship program, often shortening the program length by as much as a year.
