Getting Started as a College Student Intern

  • The college or university will assign field experiences, practicums and student teaching through an agreement with St. Lucie Public Schools.
  • Students must be fingerprinted and receive a clearance letter prior to performing any assignments at school sites.
  • Fingerprinting and background checks are a cost to the student.
  • School sites will ask to see the Clearance Letter when a college student reports the first day.

Fingerprinting

Pursuant to Florida Statue 1012.32 background and criminal history checks must be completed and results must be cleared prior to beginning your classroom observation. Results will be received and reported to the Human Resources Department.

Students will complete the fingerprinting process by visiting our office Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. located at 9461 Brandywine Lane, Port St. Lucie, FL 34986. Payments can be made by Discover, Master Card, or Visa prior to, or at the time of the visit by clicking:

If you make your payment prior to coming in for your office visit, please be sure to have your receipt with you.

All fees are non-refundable.

Fingerprints are walk-in only; no appointment is necessary. Please make sure to have a photo ID at the time of your visit.
