Clinical Educator Academy

The Clinical Educator Academy is for teachers that desire to host student teachers. Completion of Clinical Educator Academy results in 60 hours of in-service points, and fulfillment of the 20-hour SWD/ESE recertification requirement.

20-Hour FL Educational Leadership Standards for Recertification

Effective July 1, 2024, 6A-4.0051 requires anyone holding Educational Leadership and/or School Principal subject areas to include 20 hours of Florida’s educational leadership standards in-service points as a part of the required 120 points.

20-Hour Students with Disabilities Course for Recertification

There are two ways to earn your SWD Recertification points (20 hours): take any 20-hour course through BEESS Portal that has “Students with Disabilities” in the title -or- take the Students with Disabilities: Growth Mindset Course in Canvas.

Reading Endorsement and Certification

Teachers required to hold the Reading Endorsement, Reading K-12 certification or to begin requirements to add Reading Endorsement: any 3rd Grade teacher with a student that has been retained in 3rd grade, any teacher of record for a Tier 3 reading intervention, and any teacher that would like to teach 3rd grade Summer School.

40-Hour Reading Requirement for Recertification

Certification Requirements: For those needing to re-certify starting in 2025 and beyond, there are additional state requirements. As per, rule 6A-4.0051, F.A.C. designated certifications will be required to take an additional 40 hours in reading professional development for renewal or reinstatement.
