20-Hour FL Educational Leadership Standards for Recertification

New Requirements

Beginning with professional certificates expiring June 30, 2025, educators holding certification in Educational Leadership (Level I) or School Principal (Level II) will be required to earn 1 college credit or twenty (20) Florida Educational Leadership Standards points toward certificate renewal in accordance with Rule 6A-5.080. This credit will not be in addition to the 120-point requirement however, it will be included within the 120 points. Educators can check their transcripts in Frontline to see the number of points available for renewal by component. The component number is: 507-7507015: Educational Leadership for School Improvement.

Please note that these points are not banked. They will need to be earned within your validity period. For example, if you renew in 2026, these points need to be earned within 7/1/2021-6/30/2026.

SLPS TD

These asynchronous courses are available in CANVAS. Each course is worth 10 hours of in-service points, therefore, TWO courses must be completed to satisfy the twenty (20) hour recertification requirement.

FDLRS Independent Courses

Each course is 10 in-service points, therefore BOTH courses must be completed to satisfy the 20-hour recertification requirement.  Courses below can be found on the BEESS portal at https://fl-pla.org

  • Building Inclusive Schools – 10 Hours
  • Child Outcomes Summary Process – 10 Hours
