Aerospace Technologies - FPC

Aerospace Technologies is an exciting career field in Florida and around the USA. This program provides students with a foundation of knowledge and technically oriented experiences in the study of Aerospace Technologies, its effect upon our lives, and the choosing of an occupation. This program focuses on transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the technological tools, machines, instruments, materials, processes and systems in business and industry.

Areas of Study

  • A partnership between Fort Pierce Central High and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) offers students interested in a career in Aerospace an opportunity to learn from the premiere aviation and aerospace university in the world.
  • Students are dual-enrolled in ERAU and FPC earning college credit for these courses at no cost to the parent.
  • FPC’s Aerospace and Engineering Academy’s is open to qualifying average to above average students interested in careers related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
  • Students need a proven mathematics background.
  • Students earn college credit and build a college transcript that is undifferentiated from a university student on campus at ERAU in Daytona Beach.
  • Students develop skills needed to succeed at jobs in a thrilling and dynamic industry.
  • Partnerships with Space Florida, Space Coast businesses and organizations provide students with opportunities to explore Aerospace and other engineering career fields while in high school.
  • Classwork focuses on Unmanned Aerial Systems Technology and Private Pilot.

HONORS Credit for CTE Level 3 Courses
Career and Technical Education (CTE) Level III (3) courses are designed for students who have demonstrated an advanced level of interest and achievement in their CTE subject area. CTE Level 3 courses are more demanding and have requirements beyond those of standard CTE courses.
The aims of CTE level III courses are to promote:
  • Opportunities for advanced work.
  • Rigorous study of CTE content areas.
  • Practical application of knowledge and skills.
  • Transfer of knowledge and skills to work-based situations.
  • College and Career credit and readiness.

This program supports students' college and career readiness. Students are college and career ready when they have the knowledge, skills, and academic preparation needed to enroll and succeed in college credit-bearing courses within an associate or bachelor degree program without the need for remediation. Students need these same attributes and levels of achievement to enter and succeed in post-secondary workforce education or to enter a career path offering a living wage and future advancement.
